7 Steps.
Small steps to overcome overwhelm.
Feeling stuck, anxious and overwhelmed?
This is the simple framework I return to whenever I need to regain clarity, momentum, and focus.
Improve Your Headspace:
Connection = Being part of a supportive community releases the feel-good hormone oxytocin.
Contribution = Using your gifts to serve others releases the feel-good hormone serotonin.
Set Mini Goals = Achieving small personal goals (like cleaning your desk) releases the feel-good hormone dopamine.
Regular Exercise = Getting outside to exercise in nature releases feel-good endorphins (the "runner's high").
Spiritual Practice = Faith, meaning, purpose, life vision or your inner narrative. It's important to be rooted in a story that's bigger than yourself.
Set Your Life & Business Vision:
It doesn't need to be perfect, but you need a rough idea of where you want to go.
Prioritise the Work:
Choose the tasks that add the most value in the least amount of time.
This builds momentum quickly and becomes a significant competitive advantage.
Create an Action Plan:
Break your priorities into a sprint: small, actionable chunks with time-boxed accountability.
Do the Work:
Execute the plan.
Reflect & Adapt:
Review your progress and identify concrete ways to:
Make the next sprint more productive.
Remove anything that's slowing down momentum or value creation.
Repeat:
Return to Step 2 and repeat the cycle.
The beauty of feedback loops is that they build momentum with every iteration.
If you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck in the weeds...
One of the fastest ways to regain clarity is to work with a trusted guide.
